Sundogs in space

What if sundogs weren’t relative to an observer? I suppose this is what the Sun would have to look like then:

DALLE Prompt: What would a sundog look like in outer space? Show this as a vibrant rainbow ring (with no brown, tan, white or other muted tones) surrounding the Sun like the rings of Saturn, as viewed from the surface of Mercury. The ring should be nearly co-planar with the ecliptic plane, i.e. the ring should extend towards Mercury. The Sun and the ring should appear imposing and vast over the skyline of the Mercury’s surface. The style of the image should be hyper-realistic, with coronal loops and black spots visible on the surface of the sun (colored yellow and red, not white) in great detail.
